Quantock Hills National Landscape Botanical Project
The Quantock hills in Somerset were England’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (designated in 1956), and are characterised by a wide range of habitats and magnificent views. Now known as the ‘Quantocks Hills National Landscape’
A group of artists from SWSBA have been working in conjunction with the National Landscape team to depict the flora, including trees, lichens and fungi, heathers and berries, since August 2024. They have been working on recording species across various habitats and locations, including deciduous Sessile oak woods, heathland and grassland meadows, coast and bogland.”
