About Us
The South West Society of Botanical Artists welcomes anyone with an interest in botanical illustration – students, artists, teachers, collectors, enthusiasts, friends and family.
The Society was formed in 2006 to promote and encourage a high standard in botanical art throughout the South West of England. This remains a popular art form, as more and more people discover the joy of portraying plants in a pleasing and botanically accurate way.
The Society fosters links with similar groups as well as with botanical, educational and conservation institutions. Demonstrations and workshops are regularly held throughout the South West, allowing members (and non-members) to learn new skills and update existing ones ,as well as enabling them to meet fellow artists to share ideas and learn from each others’ experience.
Exhibitions where members may display and sell their work are held annually across the region in order to reach as wide an audience as possible.
